Following a Flood at the Sobell Leisure Centre the Sprung Floor within the sports hall was replaced in record time by 4Runner Sport Surfaces.
Having installed the performance sprung floor when the Leisure centre was built in 2014, 4Runner were able to leap into action immediately for Rhondda-Cynon-Taff Council to minimise the closure time of the hall and to ensure the replacement was completed for the start of the exam season.
The water logged floor, totaling some 1300m2 ,was uplifted and removed from site within 5 days. The concrete subfloor was then expressly dried with mechanical aids consisting of Dehumidifiers and ventilation equipment. Once the moisture level was down to an acceptable level, a moisture barrier was installed followed by the new performance sprung floor, System K, finished in Gerflor DLW Sport Linoleum. The Line Markings were then added and the hall handed back to the leisure centre on schedule. A very big thank you to the centre staff who assisted us where possible to achieve this rapid replacement.
